About the Rimbey Museum

Rimbey Museum is home to the Smithson International Truck Museum, the PasKaPoo Historical Museum, and the Rimbey Visitor Information Centre spanning 9 beautiful acres. We are a non-profit organization accredited with recognized museum status by the Alberta Museums Association. Our Smithson International Truck Museum is open to visitors all year long and during the summer season, we offer guided tours through our PasKaPoo Historical Village. We have many beautiful picnic areas and a playground area, providing our visitors with the perfect day's outing for all ages!

The Smithson International Truck Museum is home to the most complete collection of International half-ton trucks in the world, a large license plate collection, hundreds of pioneer photographs & the Janette Oke writing exhibit.

The PasKaPoo Historical Museum comprises 15 museum buildings open during the summer. Our historical village is home to Rimbey's first church and school as well as many other historical buildings including a military museum, barber shop, train station & caboose, town office, and homesteaders cottage. We also have several other museums which were built on-site to host our other artifact exhibits such as our tractor museum, medical museum, and arch rib museum.

Guided Tours

School & Seniors Group Tours

We offer group tours for school classes, seniors groups, or other specialty groups. We are happy to customize these tours to the interests and needs of your group. We offer various school tour program options depending on students' age and time availability. Many of our buildings are mobility accessible for our senior visitors. We have had many visitors who are wheelchair and mobility aid users. We also offer admission discounts for groups with 10 or more people!

We offer public and private rentals to our facilities. Our centennial pavilion provides the perfect venue for all types of events including weddings, birthday parties, office picnics and so much more! The facility includes a kitchen, bathrooms, and tables & chairs to accommodate the needs of any event.

Rimbey & the surrounding areas offer a full range of top-quality recreational opportunities. We host several events throughout the year, many in partnership with the Town of Rimbey!
